Electro-Optic Modulators

products thumb 1a

We offers a line of highly efficient electro-optic modulators (EOM) for scientific and industrial applications mainly in laser frequency stabilization, laser spectroscopy and laser cooling.

Our company represents QUBIG GmbH, QUBIG GmbH specializes in design and manufacturing of world-class electro-optic modulators (EOM) for scientific and industrial applications requiring optical sidebands on free space lasers. Large apertures, outstanding modulation efficiency and selected crystals make our supplier's EOMs the right choice even for high-power lasers from UV to IR wavelengths. Available in quick delivery standard models and challenging custom developments.

Electro-optic modulators (EOMs) are an easy to use and efficient tool to externally modify the phase, frequency, polarization or amplitude of a free-space laser. In contrast to acousto-optic modulators the spatial mode of the laser beam remains unaltered. So EOMs are an ideal choice when several frequency components are required in the laser spectrum. For instance in repumper frequency generation in laser cooling and quantum optics, spectral broadening to minimize stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in high power fibers, and for frequency modulation (FM) techniques, like FM Spectroscopy, Modulation Transfer Spectroscopy or Pound-Drever Hall (PDH) Laser Frequency Stabilization. The modulation spectrum of our electro-optic modulators ranges from dc-coupled phase shifters to high-Q, resonant EOMs in the MHz to GHz range.

EO - Fxyz - AR

Resonant, High-Q EOM

highly efficient modulation with low rf drive power when the exact modulation frequency (± 5%) is insignificant, as in most heterodyne techniques.

EO - Txyz - AR

Tunable, High-Q EOM

manually tunable resonance frequency (± 30%) for fine-tuning to a pre-defined frequency or fixed frequency source. High modulation efficiency.

EO - BByz - AR

Broadband EOM

multi-octave bandwidth (5-50MHz) with limited modulation depth (< 10% sidebands), but ideal for setting the phase of a heterodyne signal.

EO - Dxxyz - AR

Double-Resonance EOM

for two (or more) independent modulation frequencies, like in two-tone FM (TTFM) spectroscopy, or multiple PDH locks. Also good for extended tuning range.
